WHAT IS DIABETES?

Diabetes is a common life-long health condition. There are 3 million people diagnosed with diabetes in the UK and an estimated 850,000 people who have the condition, but don’t know it.

On Sabbath 11th January 2014 The Health Ministries Department presented the Sabbath School Programme. They titled it U-Turn Diabetes. During the morning they conducted and short face-to-face interview during Sabbath School and a phone interview during the month involving three smethwick members who have been diagnosed with diabetes. So below are the questions and the answers that were given.

Question 1

What type of diabetes do you have? 

Sis M. Smith - "Type 2" 

Elder Brown - "Type 2"

Sis Harding - "Type 2"

 

Question 2

How do you mange your diabetes? 

Sis M. Smith - "More focus on my diet and exercise and I take tablets."

Elder Brown - "Diet and Insulin." 

Sis Harding - "I try best to maintain my diet and avoid greasy food." 

 

Question 3

How does your spiritual life affect your condition? 

Sis M. Smith -  "Shared a testimony of when she was diagnosed." 

Elder Brown - "God allowing me to remember when insulin is due and also having the faith." 

Sis Harding - "It doesn't affect it negatively, but the good Lord has everything in His hands."
